Riviera dei Fiori Cycle Path

Cycling Between the Sea and Coastal Villages in the Heart of Western Liguria

The Riviera dei Fiori Cycle Path is one of the most fascinating experiences to enjoy in Western Liguria. This spectacular cycling and walking route follows the former Genoa–Ventimiglia coastal railway line, decommissioned in 2001 and transformed into one of the most scenic cycle routes in Europe.

Today, the cycle path stretches for approximately 33 km along the sea, connecting several villages of the Riviera dei Fiori between Ospedaletti and Diano Marina, passing through iconic destinations such as Sanremo, Arma di Taggia, Riva Ligure, and San Lorenzo al Mare.

The route is completely flat and paved, making it ideal for cyclists, families, walkers, and anyone who simply wants to enjoy the sea at a slower pace.

A Journey Along the Old Railway

The cycle path was created from the conversion of the historic railway line inaugurated in 1872.

When the railway was relocated further inland, the coastal route was redeveloped into a major sustainable mobility project known as the Parco Costiero della Riviera dei Fiori.

While riding along the path, visitors pass through illuminated former railway tunnels, old train stations transformed into cafés and refreshment points, and panoramic sections running literally just a few meters from the sea.
