Continuing on, you will see the evocative hanging gardens, the Saint George bas-relief, a reminder of the long Genoese rule, and the eerie Oratorio dei Neri, dedicated to the good death.

The visit also includes the important Aprosiana Library, an ancient treasure trove of culture, and, upon request, the majestic Forte dell’Annunziata, which today houses the Archaeological Museum, a hidden gem unknown to most.

For trekking enthusiasts, you can start from Ventimiglia Alta to follow the Via Julia Augusta, which passes through Porta Canarda and leads to Menton, a historic route of great significance.
