A self-guided motorcycle journey through the Ligurian Riviera, the Ligurian Alps and the French Riviera, designed for riders who enjoy the pleasure of scenic roads, sweeping bends, mountain passes and historic villages. Based in Bordighera, the itinerary explores the authentic landscapes of Western Liguria, where the beauty of the Mediterranean coastline meets the unspoilt charm of inland valleys and alpine scenery.
From the medieval villages of Dolceacqua, Apricale, Ceriana and Triora to the panoramic roads of Colle Langan, Passo Teglia and the Rezzo Forest, and on to the spectacular views of the French Riviera through Menton, La Turbie and Sospel, each day offers the perfect balance of riding, culture and nature. Created for motorcycle enthusiasts, this tour showcases some of the most beautiful roads in the Riviera dei Fiori, surrounded by castles, mountain valleys, breathtaking Mediterranean views and the timeless atmosphere of Liguria's historic villages.
DAY 1 – Arrival in Bordighera
Independent arrival on the Riviera dei Fiori and check-in at the hotel. In the late afternoon, meet your tour leader for a welcome briefing, followed by a leisurely walk through Bordighera's charming historic centre and elegant seaside promenade. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 2 – Medieval villages of western Liguria
Your journey begins with a ride through some of the most beautiful medieval villages in Western Liguria. The first stop is Dolceacqua, home of the renowned Rossese wine, famous for its medieval bridge and the impressive Doria Castle. The route then heads inland to the picturesque village of Apricale. After a short visit, the road becomes narrower and more winding as it climbs towards Bajardo, the highest village in the Province of Imperia. Continue to Ceriana, another charming historic village, before reaching Poggio, well known to cycling enthusiasts as the final climb of the legendary Milan–San Remo race. From here, enjoy a scenic descent into Sanremo, with spectacular views over the Riviera dei Fiori. After a stop in the City of Flowers, return to Bordighera along the scenic Aurelia coastal road.
DAY 3 – Into the Ligurian Alps
Today's route takes you deeper into the mountains of the Ligurian hinterland. Ride through Pigna before continuing up the Nervia Valley to Colle Langan, where the descent towards Molini di Triora, in the Argentina Valley, begins. After a short ride, you'll arrive in Triora, the famous "Village of Witches." Following your visit, continue towards Pieve di Teco along the spectacular mountain road passing through Drego, climbing to Passo Teglia and crossing the beautiful Rezzo Forest. From the medieval village of Pieve di Teco, descend towards Imperia before returning to Bordighera via the scenic Aurelia Road, following the Mediterranean coastline.
DAY 4 – Across the border into France
Today's adventure crosses the border into France. Depart from Bordighera and ride to the elegant seaside town of Menton, famous for its colourful waterfront and Mediterranean charm. From there, climb to Tête de Chien, one of the most spectacular viewpoints overlooking the French Riviera and the Principality of Monaco. Continue along scenic mountain roads to La Turbie, before riding to Sospel, a charming medieval village nestled in the French hinterland. Return to Bordighera in the afternoon.
DAY 5 – The Riviera dei Fiori
Your final riding day is dedicated to exploring the beautiful coastline of the Riviera dei Fiori and its picturesque seaside villages. Follow the coast from Bordighera towards Imperia, stopping in the enchanting hilltop village of Cervo, renowned for its breathtaking sea views and beautifully preserved historic centre. Continue to Diano Marina, then leave the coast to enjoy the scenic inland roads leading to Cipressa, a charming hilltop village offering magnificent panoramic views over the Mediterranean. Return to Bordighera along the historic Aurelia coastal road.
DAY 6 – Departure
Breakfast at the hotel followed by individual departure. End of services.
